- Do you lack job security?
- Are you harbouring fears over the consequences of being fired?
- Are you afraid that you may not find proper employment if you get laid off?
If your answers are 'yes' to the above questions, I would appreciate your replies to the following ones:
- 1. Are your contributions to your organisation considered essential or valuable?
- 2. If the answer to the above question is 'no', are you working towards seeking positions in which you can make such contributions?
- 3. If the answer to question 2. is 'no', what is stopping you in the quest to gain promotions, and thereby attain positions of authority in your organisation?
- 4. Do these apprehensions over the security of your job stem from a) your lack of knowledge or experience in your area of expertise, b) your inability to maintain your professional consistency or c) your concern for loved ones?
- 5. If your answer to part c) of question 4. is 'yes', are you attaining the skills and proficiency required to become competitive in your line of work, and if not, are you training yourself in other areas of expertise in the hopes of become multi-talented?
You wonder why I ask you these questions? So many people tout fears over job security as the main reason for their reluctance to voice out their needs and concerns. I see this as a major deterrent in the quest for 'reform', and wish to understand the reasons behind these fears and apprehensions. I also wish to know what your views are with regards to rectifying this issue.

There seems to be an unnecessary restriction there: one may answer 'yes' to the very first question, 'no' to the second, 'no' to the third, too. In that case given your restriction 'If your answers are 'yes' to the above questions...' how should I proceed to the second part?
But, in fact, a person might have things to say for your second part too, but due to the restriction, she or he cannot proceed?

Do you lack job security? Yes (because there are no effective laws which secure job security)
Are you harbouring fears over the consequences of being fired? Yes (because my girlfriend says she will abandon me If I get fired)
Are you afraid that you may not find proper employment if you get laid off? No (because for me every employment is proper, and there are plenty of them.)
And, there are some other options, too, to answer them. Well, in that case I cannot proceed to the second part. My question is do you really want to find out about dear readers only if they answer 'yes' to all of them? If so, can you tell the rationale for that proviso?
Yes anonymous, there are reasons why I want an assent for all three questions. You've given some of the reasons yourself. Here they are:
1. If you have job security all is well, however, even if you didn't and you still are assured of alternative employment then you've got no concerns about your future eh.
2. If you harbour fears of being fired but aren't worried about the lack of opportunities, again in alternative employment, then you shouldn't be using these fears as an excuse (for whatever potential endeavour that is). I guess that your girlfriend might abandon you is concern enough for most people.
3. Unless you have no fear of failure to find alternative employment, you wouldn't find yourself thinking twice before 'sticking it to the man'.

Since the questions don't seem to be mutually exclusive, there would be at least eight possibilities (excluding responses like 'I'm not sure' or 'depends', etc.), and you may want to explain how your rationale works on them all? :)
